A Meaty Miso

  • The addition of pork and vegetables to this delicious miso soup recipe brings protein and new umami flavors to the classic.


  • ¼ lb shredded pork
  • 1/3 cup chopped carrot
  • 1/3 cup chopped gobo
  • 1/3 cup chopped daikon radish
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 3-1/2 c.water
  • 3 Tbsp. Marukome Dashi-iri Miso
  • Directions

    • 01 Saute pork, carrot, gobo, daikon radish with vegetable oil in a pot for about 3 min.
    • 02 Add water, boil, and cook all vegetables and meat thoroughly.
    • 03 Reduce the heat, and add Marukome Dashi-iri Miso (make sure not to boil after adding Miso).
    • 04 Garnish with green onion and serve hot.
