Miso-Scallion Beef Bowl

This Scallion Beef Bowl is a quick, flavorful meal featuring tender beef, scallions, and a savory-sweet Easy Miso Paste sauce. Served over steamed rice, it's ready in about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

(Serves 2)
  • 10-12 oz thinly sliced beef
  • (such as hot pot style brisket or ribeye)
  • 6-8 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large bunch green onions, finely chopped
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp. toasted sesame seeds
  • 2–3 tbsp. Miso & Easy
  • 1–2 tbsp. chili oil
  • 2 bowls cooked white rice
  • 2 pasteurized egg yolks
  • garnish: extra chopped green onions

Directions

  1. Prep Aromatics: Finely mince the garlic using a manual chopper and finely chop the green onions.
  2. Mix Paste: In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, chopped green onions, black pepper, sugar, toasted sesame seeds, Miso & Easy, and chili oil. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Coat Beef: Lay the thin beef slices flat on a plate and spread the miso scallion paste evenly across the top side of the meat.
  4. Sear: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef paste-side up, cook for about 1 minute, then flip to caramelize the scallions and finish cooking the beef.
  5. Assemble: Layer the seared beef over warm rice, garnish with extra chopped green onions, and top with a pasteurized egg yolk in the center.
  6. For food safety, pasteurized egg yolks are recommended when serving them raw or lightly cooked.
